I'm amazed at how accurate and detailed it is. they offer the whole earth in 3d topo now. what do you think are the chance that it will put national geo, rand mcnally, garmin, tom tom, and all other softawres and maps out of business? do you think those companies will be able to compete with the software database ever?

Which is better and why? im looking at the Garmin Nuvi 760 compared to the Tom Tom 720.
I use Tom Tom. Never failed me yet
We have the Garmin and we love it.
I have a garmin have not tried the Tom Tom. Garmin seems to work fine for me.
Since this is R&S, Jesus endorsed garmin in Thessalonians.
Unless you're planning to use your GPS to help you find an afterlife, this has nothing to do with Religion and Spirituality.
In any case, I strongly urge you to also consider Magellan. I've used all three and had the best results with my Magellan Maestro.

MapQuest was the place to go to print out directions before everyone had Garmin,Tom Tom…etc. and all these new brands of mobile GPS systems. why didn't MapQuest come out with a portable gps like these other later brands when MapQuest was really "the" place to get directions from to start out with.
They could have made a ton of money on something like this .

What would you choose?
Personally I would choose the Garmin, mostly because I believe it is the better brand. I think the Nuvi 200 is a little on the low end for features but there are better ones out there for only a little bit more money. Check out http://www.gpsunitsandaccessories.com/au…
to compare the prices of the Gamin Nuvi.
Tomtom I guess you could use amazon??
I just got a Garmin 200 my parents got the Tom Tom they keep telling me about all the features they have but my garmin just doesnt have near as many features

I need to buy a new sat nav. Was going to go for another tom tom but have heard good things about the Garmin Navman and am now unsure about which way to go. Please help!
Garmin Nuvi..I have one. I used Tom Toms for work before and they always Moo at you. Its weird. go with Garmin
have had a Tom Tom 1 now close to 3years…never an issue with it…

I am thinking about buying one, are they any good??
I'm particuarly concerened about the map resolution, in the UK it comes loaded with the Atlantic base map, is this good enough for navigating around European roads, not just motorways but smaller lanes and streets?
If its no good, what are your recommendations for alternatives, I mainly need something to find my way around when driving through europe. but also like the fact that the Garmin eTrex can be used for hill walking, sailing etc. Units like the Tom Tom one are fine for driving, but no good for the other applications.
Does anybody have experience of the Garmin eTrex Vista cx GPS receiver?

I just wanted to know why is the Garmin rated higher than the TOM TOM in review? I have both the garmin and the tom tom, and loved the TOM TOM a million times better than the garmin for 2 reason:
1) the tom tom is plug and play straight into ur car without having to charge the battery like my garmin, which is the best.
2) the TOM TOM get free map update from user.. unlike the garmin..
so can someone explain to me why the garmin is better in review?
I love my Garmin and I would give it a 5 star rating because it's gets me where I need to go and it has never let me down. Also it charges while the car is on so I don't mind the cord.

I am looking to buy a GPS (first time buyer ) but I haven't decided which brand is best as there are so many to choose from. I read most of the reviews posted online (Amazom, etc.) and thinking of buying wither Garmin nüvi 255W or Garmin nüvi 260W. I would definitely appreciate any suggestion.
I have had 2 Garmins and they are great, another good one is Tom Tom. for the price and quality I would go with the Garmin over TT.
The only difference between the 255W and 260W is the size of the screen.
Which GPS is best? Garmin nüvi 255W or 260W or…?

I’m looking to buy a good priced GPS system that will list all the attractions (like museums, beaches, things like Mount Rushmore, ect.). Is there one around like that in the price range of 0 and from Garmin? If not, is there one like that from Tom Tom or another brand?
